Ben&Becky | Columbia Winery Wedding Photography

Becky’s sister Rachel told a very touching story about the moment she knew Ben and Becky were meant to be together. Becky was flying down to see Ben, but due to severe weather, she was going to be stuck in Colorado with her sister for 2 days, waiting for the next available plane. After hearing of Becky’s plight, he decided to get into his car and drive 7 hours to pick her up. Rachel was moved to tears as she told this story (and I am not gonna lie. I was too!). I loved hearing this moment of true love and sacrifice so they could be together for the weekend.

We were honored to photograph Ben and Becky’s wedding. With the gorgeous green fields and big clouds in the sky, Ben’s parent’s dairy farm was the perfect place to start their wedding day. We adored Becky’s country chic style with lace wedding gown, complete with a pink and coral bouquet accented with pearls. After their church ceremony, guests were invited to a reception at Columbia Winery. They stuck around until the party died, wanting the wedding to continue all night long. Their flight to Hawaii was a very early morning flight and they decided to not go to a hotel, but go directly to the airport from the reception!

One of my favorite details from the day is cake! It was a bit of a mystery when guest got a first glance at the cake, but after some explaining we found out the story behind the cake. They choose May 18th for their wedding date, which as most of us Washingtonians know is the anniversary of Mt. St. Helens erupting. Becky had wanted to get Ben a groom’s cake. With that date in mind, he opted for a volcano cake!
