I am not a crafty person. You might think I am, being a photographer and all. But I am not. My sister can whip up a shirt or a purse on a Saturday morning if she feels like it and I am surrounded by friends and relatives who have super cute Etsy shops selling their amazing hand sewn items. So when I actually go to a fabric store I am immediately intimidated and inspired at the same time. Sometimes I need a small backdrop or something made for a styled shoot. Yesterday I talked about my cupcake disaster. For the background and table cloth of the cupcakes I needed a fun, bright pattern. So I headed 3 miles down the road to the fabric store. I wasn’t sure what I wanted and I know nothing about fabric. The ladies in there were super helpful. They walked around the store talking with me and listened to what I needed and found me a solution. Yes, I could have gone to Walmart and paid less, but who knows what I would have come out with!
