A little while ago I was talking with Lynn of Fleur de lis Floral and Event Design about some interesting observations while surfing wedding photography sites. It seems that as soon as a bride has a tattoo or possibly a little different hair cut, the photographer feels the need to put her in super dark eyeliner and hot pink shoes. I feel like there are a lot of edgier brides-to-be out there who still want to highlight their rock n’ roll side but still feel bridal. So Lynn and I worked together to create a simple styled shoot to show off how a bride with an edge can still be romantically beautiful. To me, it is more about being unique in the decoration of the wedding details and the outfit than crazy colors and over the top harsh features.
A very big thank you to Trisha Lee Concepts for styling Laicy’s hair and Rick Vara who did her make-up to give Laicy 3 different looks (who’s hair mostly resembles the middle photo on a day-to-day basis). Even in the third and final look, although Laicy is obviously outside the box of your average bride, she is still has a beautiful softness about her.
We went up into the woods of Lake Chelan and set up shop on a gorgeously sunny day. Moss, grass and mushrooms completed this woodsy themed shoot.
Cake Chic Studio designed cupcakes to match the theme. They fit in perfectly. And of course they tasted SO good.
Maybe instead of a bouquet, a unique bride would like a flower ring.
Just because she’s edgy, doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to have laugh!
