Wenatchee Wedding Photography {Lucas+Alexis}

Lucas and Alexis’ wedding was precious and beautifully romantic.  Lucas was diagnosed in May of 2009 with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He had just moved to Portland to complete his masters and now had to travel back and forth from Portland to Spokane every 2 weeks to complete treatment for the 6 months following his diagnosis. It was mentally and physically exhausting. Thankfully the treatments were a success and by the doctor’s request he also did radiation treatment following his chemo. Lucas’ last radiation treatment was just one week before their wedding. The coolest thing about this sweet couple was that they didn’t mention their struggles over the past year at all on their wedding day. It was a day of celebration and thankfulness for keeping their love strong though what could only be one of the more difficult things they will ever have to face together. The ceremony was held Alexis’ parent’s gorgeous backyard. The reception was supposed to be outdoors but with rain foretasted for that evening they were able to switch venues last minute and brought their garden themed wedding indoors at The Wenatchee Museum. With the lights turned down low, candles in mason jars, and fresh cut wild flowers; it felt like we were outside. A special touch to their reception was a cookie buffet with cute titles about love; i.e. “Don’t Russia Love”  Russian tea cakes and “Gimme Some Suga” sugar cookies. It was so fun looking around at all the different names. So cleaver!  Happy marriage Lucas and Lexi!

Lucas’ dad and brother rebuilt this old Willy’s Jeep. We had a great time riding around town after them as we drove from one location to the next. This photo below was taken right after the ceremony on the way to the reception.

The ladies all met up at Indigo Salon. Everyone was so relaxed, it was great for all the ladies to get to know each other.

We thought we’d do something a little different in the orchard. We grabbed some apples that were on the ground and staged a funny scene! Thankfully, everyone was able to miss each other and we all walked away with clean clothes 🙂

Yummy food by The Cellar Cafe. Spinach tortellini, chicken, steak, and fresh fruit. What more could you ask for?!
